Timothy Casey, 31, was living out of his car parked beside a commercial building in Miro St before police issued him with a trespass notice.
Immediately after police left, he walked a short distance down the street before coming to a tree and urinating.
He was seen by a member of public who alerted police.
Police served him with a second trespass notice and after questioning, the defendant admitted what he did and was arrested.
‘‘I’m going to p... there and I will s... on the wall,’’ he said.
Judge Mark Williams said Casey had previously been warned at the same location in May and had multiple complaints from the community due to being located in an area which attracted a lot of tourists.
Judge Williams said the man was proving to be ‘‘a bit of a nuisance’’ when he appeared in the Invercargill District Court this week.
Casey pleaded guilty to the charge and was ordered to pay a fine of $50.
