The traditionally popular white elephant stall is set to be the hottest commodity at the St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church fair.

Money raised will go towards keeping the church running.

Fair convener Margaret Martyn said people should keep an eye out for the items on the white elephant stall, as they would be gone quickly.

"It’s worth coming this year.

"Last year we were pushing the jam but I don’t think we have as much this year," Mrs Martyn said.

The baking was also a hot commodity.

"[It] always goes first."

Other stalls would sell gardening items, knitting items, accessories and cheese rolls.

People could barter for items on the white elephant stall on the day, she said.

"There will be lots of bargains."

Not only would the fair be a good opportunity for people to bag a bargain, the event was also a good chance to connect with the community on a Saturday morning, Mrs Martyn said.

The fair will be on May 4, at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.
