Mr Scott said the pupils had ripped up 15 loaves of bread for stuffing to feed about 50 parents at the gathering.

Te Tipua resident Adrian Harden offered his hāngī-making services and the rest of hard mahi was done by his wife and children. Mr Harden said it was good to teach the school children the process and he benefited from a feed at the end of it.
