Said to be a one in 100,000 chance of happening — though no-one really knows the odds — the three identical animals all appeared on Thursday night.
Farmer Doug Dodds said he was surprised to see them all and at first thought some other newborn had walked over after birth and twins became triplets.
"But we had a look around and the only other mother due to give birth hadn’t yet, she came later, so it was triplets," Mr Dodds said.
The triplets were doing well and appeared to be in rude good health, Mr Dodds said.
Being male, they normally would be facing a grim future, but he was likely to hang on to them for a while yet and see how they developed.
He ran a Friesian stud at Middlevale Farm, and it would be good for the stud to see how they developed, he said.
