These giant figures were just one of the many attractions at the Gore Gaiety Gala held in August 1927.

The event, which took place over a week, drew thousands of people to the town, many of them arriving by train from around the district.

Children’s competitions, street dancing, poultry and primary industry competitions and burlesque competitions were among the events.
