Looking back

In this photo taken about 1885, Gore Public School pupils and teachers gather in front of the original school buildings, built in 1878, which were later destroyed by fire in 1896.

A second fire in 1920 again destroyed the school’s buildings. 

The third school was built in brick and was ready for occupancy in February 1922.
