After hours of practice on their karakia, three waiata and school haka, West Gore School travelled to Murihiku for Mīharo Murihiku Polyfest at ILT Stadium Southland.

The group performed on Monday and was back at school on Tuesday.

School administrator Anneke van den Heever said the pupils had worked very hard on their kapa haka, led by teacher Jane Matthews.

Blue Mountain College teacher Whaea Jaki Eales also helped with fine-tuning the cultural performance.
