The North East Valley Bowling club intends writing to Bowls New Zealand to express disappointment at the removal of information on its annual singles tournament from the national body's website.
There was a preview of the tournament on the Bowls New Zealand website early last week but it was removed later in the week by the national marketing and communications manager Rajal Middleton.
The Otago Daily Times understands it was because the tournament includes Jamie Hill, Gary Lawson, Shayne Sincock and Shannon McIlroy who have been suspended from the Commonwealth Games squad because of alleged misconduct at the Asia and Pacific championships in Malaysia two months ago.
The hearing into the incident is expected to be heard by the end of next month.
Neill Williams, the convener of the organising committee for the Speight's-sponsored North East Valley Invitation singles, said the players had been invited to the tournament before the incident in Malaysia.
"To date they have not been found guilty of anything," Williams said.
"There are no grounds to suspend their invitation to our tournament."
Williams said a preview of the North East Valley singles had been on the Bowls New Zealand website for about five days before it was removed.
"We intend to write to Bowls New Zealand to express our disappointment with the decision.
In the past, previews and results of our annual tournament had been posted on the website.
"It seems that the judicial inquiry is overshadowing everything at the moment.
"We operate our club under the principles of natural justice. Until a case is proven, life carries on as normal."
