Oh, and he has a big trophy and there was $40 in prize money tucked away in an envelope - that is a lot of money when you are 10 years old.
Cooper had a little help winning the Otago Indoor Bowls Invitational Pairs title on the weekend. He teamed up with Otago's No1-ranked player, Daniel French.
French has won 23 Otago titles but he said his young team-mate was no passenger.
''He goes pretty good for a 10-year-old,'' French said.
French is friends with Cooper's father, Grant, and he wanted to encourage the young lad.
Cooper does not seem to need much encouragement, though. He was runner-up in the novice junior singles and has really embraced the sport since taking it up with his father.
''He was pretty chuffed,'' Grant said.
''He says he is a professional bowler because he won 40 bucks.''
Cooper has become somewhat of a star in the indoor bowls community as well.
''He has a lot of older people fussing over him because of what he has done. They think it is brilliant.''
Cooper is planning on saving his prize money for something special.
