Fast bowler Shane Bond has the chance to get overs under his belt on the New Zealand A side's tour of India next month as he returns from exile to international cricket.

Bond, banished from international cricket for his involvement with the unsanctioned Indian Cricket League since early last year, is among a number of players will leave the NZ A party to link up with the Black Caps for the one-day and Twenty20 segements of their tour of Sri Lanka, also next month.

The others are Neil Broom, Nathan McCullum, Peter McGlashan and Kyle Mills.

NZ Cricket selection committee head Glen Turner said the A tour would provide those players a period of preparation for the limited-overs games.

"Many of the squad will be coming off their winter break, so the opportunity to get game time in sub-continent conditions is ideal and Shane Bond will also have a good opportunity to get up to speed before returning to the Black Caps.

The squad includes one newcomer to the A side, Auckland leg-spinner Tarun Nethula, who was the top wicket taker in the State Championship last season.

New Zealand A squad to tour India next month: Peter Fulton (captain), Brent Arnel, Shane Bond, Neil Broom, Brendon Diamanti, Gareth Hopkins, Jamie How, Peter McGlashan, Nathan McCullum, Kyle Mills, Tarun Nethula, Aaron Redmond, Tim Southee, BJ Watling, Kane Williamson.
