The 2012-13 season includes up to 180 days of cricket to be played at 19 different venues across the country.
But Otago will not be playing any cricket in Alexandra or Oamaru.
Both Molyneux Park and Centennial Park have been left off the domestic schedule this summer.
Centennial Park last hosted a domestic match when Otago beat Auckland by two wickets in a one-day match in January last year.
Molyneux Park's warrant of fitness was removed last season and the venue last hosted a domestic match in January 2011.
Otago has also had to sacrifice a twenty/20 home fixture to accommodate Sky's broadcasting arrangement with New Zealand Cricket. Some of the HRV Cup games will be staged on Friday nights, under lights, and the region has no suitable venues.
Otago opens its summer with a Plunket Shield match against Canterbury, in Rangiora on October 27. The Volts' first "home" game is actually a twenty/20 fixture against Northern Districts, which will be played under lights at Seddon Park, Hamilton, on November 2.
The first opportunity to see the team play in Dunedin is on November 12, when Otago hosts Canterbury in a first-class fixture at the University Oval.
The Volts will also play games in Invercargill and Queenstown.
Six rounds of Plunket Shield games are scheduled before Christmas. The white clothing is hung up while the HRV Cup is completed in January. The Plunket Shield resumes at the end of January and the one-day tournament is tacked on to the end of the summer. It starts in late February and the final is on March 30.
