Rain interrupts play for Otago, Wellington

Rain has interrupted play on day two of the Plunket Shield match between Otago and Wellington at the University Oval.

Play was called off at 3pm with just 9.2 overs possible today.

Otago picked up the wickets of Stephen Murdoch for 43 and Michael Papps for 47 to leave Wellington 119 for three in reply to Otago's first innings total of 208.

Volts wicketkeeper Derek de Boorder claimed his 300th first-class dismissal when he gloved an inside edge from Papps bat off the bowling of Jimmy Neesham.
