The 18-year-old is looking at accepting a full scholarship at a college in the United States as his next step to improve his game.
Croudis remained tight-lipped about where he might be heading but he is likely to be playing in the strong Big 12 Conference, which includes highly ranked teams such as Oklahoma State, Texas, Iowa and Kansas.
He has an incredible list of achievements from the last two years and is likely to receive offers from more than one college.
Croudis has just been selected in a New Zealand squad to compete in the Lake MacQuarrie championships and the New South Wales Open in Sydney next month.
He joins Ryan Chisnall (Nelson), Andrew Stewart (Bay of Plenty) and Ben Wallace (Auckland) in the squad, which will spend two weeks in Australia.
This will be the second time that Croudis has been chosen in a national squad, having played in an under-19 tournament in China last year.
Add to this his unbeaten record in three interprovincial tournaments with eight wins and four halves and his New Zealand under-19 title at North Shore last year and Croudis will have little trouble being accepted for a scholarship.
This year, he attended the University of Otago, sitting papers in accounting, finance, economics and four core business papers.
He passed them all and has been offered a place in the honours course but, under the eligibility rules for college golf, cannot enrol at Otago next year if he is to be awarded a full scholarship.
"The maximum time at a tertiary institution is five years and I want to spend four years at a college and so I will have to sit 2011 out," Croudis said.
However, the young Balmacewen golfer will have plenty on his plate as after playing in the New Zealand squad next month he intends to return to Australia for further competition in March.
He will be going to Melbourne for two weeks to play in Riversdale Cup and then compete in the Australian amateur championships.
