St Clair had a busy weekend, playing Otago A on Saturday and Otago B yesterday, at Balmacewen.
A win and a draw respectively were sufficient to claim a home final, despite having a bye in the final round next weekend.
St Clair beat Otago A 3.5 to 2.5 and posted a 3-3 draw with Otago B to finish the series with five wins and two draws, with a 29-game tally from eight outings.
A 5-1 win over North Otago on Saturday has put Otago B into second place, while the Oamaru team slipped from third to last.
North Otago was severely weakened by the absence of the club's two promising juniors, Kris Rush and Cameron Ryder, who were attending a Lincoln College golf academy weekend in Christchurch.
On Saturday, St Clair was always in command against Otago A, as Brent McEwan, Tony Giles and Chris Idour posted good wins.
St Clair No 5 Clayton More was two up with two holes to play but lost a suckered ball in front of the new 17th green and then lost the final hole to halve with Carter Milne.
Luke Murdoch beat Stephen Hitchcox, while at No 6, Murray Edgar gave Otago A its second win, over Paul Brouwer.
In Oamaru, Otago B posted some convincing margins and Brandon Hodgson's 2-up win over Gary Creedy was the only match to go the full distance.
Paul Velenski posted North Otago's only win, at the expense of Otago B captain Michael Smith, playing at No 5.
Yesterday's catch-up match, due to an earlier course closure, was an even battle. Smith was one up on Tony Giles playing the final hole and won the 18th for 2-up to tie the fixture.
