New Zealand driver Scott Dixon will team up with another Indy 500 champion after Target Chip Ganassi Racing today announced they would be adding Dario Franchitti to their ranks.
Franchitti, the 2007 IRL champion and Indianapolis 500 winner, replaces England's Dan Wheldon on the team, and becomes the driver of the No 10 Target Honda.
Franchitti moved into Nascar driving for Ganassi at the end of last year, but when the team were unable to find sponsorship they were shut down.
Franchitti said he was looking forward to teaming up with Dixon.
"I am really looking forward to getting behind the wheel of one of those Target cars and being a teammate to Scott Dixon," he said.
"I have really enjoyed this last season in stockcars and have not completely closed that chapter of my professional career but the opportunity that arose was just something I could not pass up."
