The Black Sox began their preparation for the World Cup with a series of decent performances at the Peter Hallman Memorial tournament in Ontario at the weekend.
The New Zealand men had wins over the Dominican Republic (6-5), Toronto (9-1) and Australia (9-0), and were beaten 2-1 by Hill United.
The Black Sox will also get some warm-up action in Saskatoon before the World Cup starts in Prince Albert on July 8. — APL
