Sarah Scott and Roger Stevens were named the women’s and men’s bowler of the year respectively at last night’s annual awards.
Scott, who previously picked up back-to-back awards for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons, had a successful year, winning the open singles and champion of champion pairs, and was runner-up in the 2-4-2 mixed pairs and open triples.
Stevens also made his own success, winning the open singles, pairs and champion of champion pairs.

Up-and-coming Brighton bowler Mitch Cook was named emerging player of the year.
The junior bowler, who took up the sport five years ago, has become a force in the Dunedin club scene with his natural ability and competitive edge.
Darron Wolland was named para-athlete of the year, representing Wakari.
He competed at the Multi-Nations Tournament on the Gold Coast in March and will play in the B6-B8 pairs at the World Bowls Championship later this year, with Mark Noble.

Club of the year went to Green Island after a successful season on and off the green. The club has concentrated on growing its membership, adding 20 more players to the ranks, and starting new ties and implementing the goals of its strategic plan.
Dunedin also produced some top representative bowlers.
Kerrin Wheeler and his father and director, Colin, won bronze in the B3 men’s singles and mixed pairs at the International Blind Bowls Association World Championships last month.
