The 67th Uni Snow Games opened yesterday at the Treble Cone Skifield, near Wanaka, with 60 students competing in the giant slalom.
Stefan Calder, of Auckland University, won the men's ski event, Harrison Steedman (Canterbury University) was second and Mikael Haysom, of Auckland University, third.
Courtney Tate (Victoria University) won the women's ski event ahead of Mikey Austin, from the University of Otago, and Gemma Jones, of Auckland University.
The men's snowboard was won by Jimmy Harris, from Canterbury University. Leon Thomason (AUT) was second and Andrew Horsley (Auckland University) third.
Katie Logan, from the University of Otago, won the women's snowboard ahead of Hannah Orchard (Canterbury University) and Loretta Hogg (AUT).
Auckland University holds top place on the leader board as competitions proceed through the week.
