The Gallant Guru mare went straight to the lead against her three rivals and poured the pace on to win in a time of 45.95sec for the 800m - 10sec faster than the 800m inexperienced heat held immediately prior.
The hand-held times for both heats were checked against the camera footage taken by the Trackside TV camera operator and were correct.
The track record for the 800m since track alignment and camber changes in 2010 is Anzac Star's time of 46.70sec, set in 2010. However, the jump-outs are held on the inside track.
The 4yr-old, who had six starts for two placings last season, will be one to watch when she makes her season debut, but co-trainer Brian Anderton said she would have a short break before she took on her first assignment.
One Anderton runner who will be seen shortly is Gold Leaf.
The three-win gelding is set to line up in the $15,000 rating 75 1600m at Wingatui on Tuesday. Stablemate Breathe Easy, who finished third behind Agnus Browne in the 1000m maiden, was a likely starter in a maiden race on Tuesday, Anderton said.
Anderton and co-training son Shane had two other heats winners including Blue `N' Gold, who beat home three stablemates in 48.50sec over 800m. All four starters in that heat are still a few weeks away from racing, Anderton said.
Meetings at Winton on November 20 or Cromwell on December 1 are the most likely targets for the majority of the Andertons' team in action yesterday.
Include, who finished eighth in the Canterbury Stakes for 3yr-olds at Riccarton on Saturday, is having a break after a tough run on Saturday while the Andertons and owners Wayne and Karen Stewart eye up a longer journey.
''We'll put her out for a week or two. The [New Zealand] Oaks isn't until March,'' Brian Anderton said.
''She got knocked from pillar to post [on Saturday].''
The winner of the inexperienced 800m heat was a 2yr-old King Of Roses-Lady Penelope gelding. His trainer, Paul Richards, said he would have a short rest before coming back in to work.
