
The club is celebrating its 150th jubilee and 340 people have registered for the event.
The festivities get under way tonight with a meet and greet at the clubrooms.
The club has teed up David Latta to give a speech.
The Otago great is a life member of the club and was selected vice-president of New Zealand Rugby last week.
He is sure to have plenty of people bending his ear between beers.
It may well be his first official outing in the gig as well.
Club president Mark Sheppard said it shaped as a very blokey affair.
One of the focal points of the night will be a jersey presentation to the Clutha premier side.
They are undefeated in five games this season and will put their record on the line against traditional rival Crescent at the Balclutha Showgrounds at 2pm tomorrow.
The game is sure to draw a large crowd. But there will be junior games earlier in the day.
The reserve grade is also playing Crescent and the women’s side, Big River Country, will play Zingari-Richmond.
Celebrations will shift to the town hall later that evening, where dinner will be served.
Former All Black Marc Ellis has been lined up as a speaker and is always good fun.
There is a more informal gathering planned for Sunday at the clubrooms.
Sheppard said folk were coming from all over the country. One person was making the trip from the United Kingdom and ‘‘seven or eight’’ people have travelled from Australia.
