Dan Carter has again been named at second-five for Saturday's match against the Hurricanes in Wellington, his 100th for the Crusaders.

Carter, one of the world's best first-fives, will again play outside 23-year-old Tom Taylor following the success of the experiment against the previously unbeaten Stormers in Christchurch.

Taylor scored all of his team's 31 points, including kicking nine from nine attempts at goal.

The selection allows for different kicking options but will also ask questions of the Hurricanes' midfield defence.

Coach Todd Blackadder has made only one change to the line-up which beat the Stormers, with right wing Sean Maitland failing to recover from an ankle sprain. He is replaced by Adam Whitelock.

Other players celebrating milestones are flanker George Whitelock, who will notch his 50th Super Rugby game. Prop Owen Franks will also celebrate his half century if he comes off the reserves bench.

Crusaders team to play the Hurricanes at Westpac Stadium in Wellington at 7:35pm on Saturday: Israel Dagg, Adam Whitelock, Robbie Fruean, Dan Carter, Zac Guildford, Tom Taylor, Andy Ellis; Kieran Read (c), Matt Todd, George Whitelock, Sam Whitelock, Tom Donnelly, Ben Franks, Corey Flynn, Wyatt Crockett. Reserves: Quentin MacDonald, Owen Franks, Luke Romano, Willi Heinz, Ryan Crotty, Tom Marshall.
