Accusations of spectator involvement, and of a player being kicked on the ground, have been made following the match between King's High School and John McGlashan College in the Highlanders First XV competition.
Two King's players will appear at a judicial hearing, at a date yet to be set, although King's has said it will vehemently defend one of its players.
King's prop Hayden Fleury was sent off by referee Mitchell Will, after being involved in an incident with McGlashan first five-eighth Hamish Sutherland.
Sutherland was taken to hospital with concussion and a suspected broken cheekbone, of which he was later cleared, after allegedly being punched by Fleury during the first half.
Fleury will appear at the hearing for the punch and another King's player will also appear after an allegation a McGlashan player was kicked and stomped on the ground.
There has also been an accusation spectators had gone on to the field during the incident.
ORFU clubs and schools liaison officer Brett Compton said there were conflicting reports on what exactly happened.
"There have been things said which are completely different from what other people have said happened," Compton said.
" It is at the polar extremes, some of it.
But any allegation of spectator involvement we take very, very seriously."
Police were called to the scene after an off-duty police officer watching the game witnessed the incident.
Sergeant Matt Scoles, of Dunedin, said the matter was appropriately dealt with by the match referee at the time and police had not received any complaints about the matter.
Compton said the whole incident was disappointing.
"We like people to play fair and hard but this certainly goes well beyond the boundaries."
McGlashan principal Mike Corkery, who was not at the game, said he was happy with the process carried out by the union.
He said it was a one-off incident and the school would not be doing anything different.
King's High School principal Dan Reddiex, who also was not at the game, said the school would be vehemently defending one of the players cited.
The school accepted the due process and would await the outcome.
However, there were transgressions on both sides.
