Heriot hooker Fraser Fletcher has been suspended for four weeks, after he was sent off near the end of the South Otago club game against Clutha Valley at Clydevale on Saturday.
Fletcher was sent off by referee Neville Muir with about 15 minutes to go, after he stomped on a player.
A judicial hearing was held straight after the game and Fletcher was banned for four weeks.
His penalty comes hot on the heels of two North Otago club players being handed lengthy bans after being sent off last weekend.
Unga Kefu (Old Boys) was suspended for four weeks, while Siosua Fifita (Athletic) was suspended for eight weeks.
The pair were involved in a fight, which Fifita left the reserves bench to join.
Fletcher had played for North Otago over the past couple of seasons but had returned to Heriot this year.
Heriot coach Lindsay Roulston said the club was unlikely to appeal the penalty, although he felt the incident was somewhat accidental.
The side has until Saturday to decide whether to appeal.
Clutha Valley won the game 35-18 to remain top of the table in South Otago club rugby.
