Rugby: Tony Brown to start for Highlanders

Tony Brown will make his first start for the Highlanders in seven years as the side takes on the Crusaders on Saturday.

Colin Slade is back in training but is not totally comfortable with his jaw, so will wait for another couple of weeks.

Brown replaces Robbie Robinson at first five-eighth.

Captain Jamie Mackintosh has been named in the reserves but is battling a knee injury and a damaged groin.

The team is: Ben Smith, James Paterson, Kendrick Lynn, Shaun Treeby, Siale Piutau, Tony Brown, Jimmy Cowan (Captain), Nasi Manu, Adam Thomson, Jarrad Hoeata, Tom Donnelly, Josh Bekhuis,David Te Moana, Mahonri Schwalger, Chris King.

Reserves: Jason Rutledge, Bronson Murray/Jamie Mackintosh, Nick Crosswell, Alando Soakai, Aaron Smith, Robbie Robinson, Telusa Veainu.
