All Blacks rugby midfielder Sonny Bill Williams is to box on behalf of earthquake-devastated Christchurch.
Williams announced at a press conference in Auckland today he will be back in the ring for his fourth fight, and third as a professional, on June 5 at Waitakere, a date when the Crusaders will be sitting out a Super 15 rugby bye.
Williams' opponent for the bout, dubbed the 'Clash for Canterbury', will be announced later.
"I'm looking for another credible opponent," Williams said.
Fifty percent of pay-per-view revenue will go to the Christchurch fund while Williams will also make a personal donation of $100,000.
"I earn a good living as a sportsman - I feel morally obliged," Williams told the press conference.
Williams is unbeaten in his previous three fights against Garry Gurr, Ryan Hogan and Scott Lewis.
