Tennis: NZ advance to regional final

New Zealand's doubles combination came up trumps again as they advanced to the Fed Cup Asia-Oceania group one playoffs final in Perth last night.

New Zealand beat pool A rivals Indonesia 2-1 to book a place in the final against Australia today.

The doubles pairing of Marina Erakovic and Kairangi Vano secured their third successive win of the tournament by beating Ayu Fani Damayanti and Sandy Gumulya 6-3 2-6 6-3.

Erakovic had earlier won her singles contest 6-2 6-4 over Gumulya after Di Hollands went down to Damayanti 4-6 6-7.

New Zealand also beat India and top seeds Uzbekistan in pool play.

The winners tomorrow advance to the world group two playoff in April.

Singles: Di Hollands lost to Ayu Fani Damayanti 4-6 6-7, Marina Erakovic bt Sandy Gumulya 6-2 6-4.

Doubles: Erakovic/Kairangi Vano bt Damayanti/Gumulya 6-3 2-6 6-3.
