Armed police surround Woolston property

Armed police have swooped on a property in Woolston this morning.

Officers could be seen outside a house on Rutherford St, near the intersection with Ferry Rd, about 11am on Friday.

A police spokesperson said they were searching for "a person of interest".

The spokesperson said police had not located the person as of 2pm on Friday.

A dog unit was also at the scene as well as several police vehicles.

Before police arrived, a neighbour said she heard a lot of "commotion, like yelling" at the address. 

Police at the scene appeared to be communicating through a window with someone inside the house. Some of the armed officers were also carrying shields.
