One person has been taken to hospital after Kaiapoi High School was locked down for a time on Monday afternoon.
Police said they were called a report of a disorder at a school in Kaiapoi at 2.10pm on Monday.
Kaiapoi High School confirmed on its website that it was in lockdown.
Senior Sergeant Hamish Keer-Keer said the school “initiated a lockdown as per their protocols”.
“One person has been taken to hospital for medical assessment.”
In an update on its website, the school said it had completed its lockdown, and students were being released as of 3pm.
“Further information will be sent tonight.”
