Voters in Ōtepoti Dunedin can now find more information on the council website about the candidates vying for the role of councillor in the upcoming Dunedin City Council by-election.

The by-election was called after the unexpected death of councillor Jules Radich in January.

Voting will open from April 10 and the polls will close at noon on May 12.

As in last year’s local election, voters can now watch short videos of by-election candidates answering key questions.

All 14 candidates standing in the by-election were offered the opportunity to take part and 12 opted to take part in the filming.

Along with candidate statements and photos, the videos are now online at dunedin.govt.nz/elections.

The videos are also available as a playlist on the Dunedin City Council’s YouTube channel.

The candidates standing for the council by-election, in alphabetical order, are: Bill Acklin, Lync Aronson, Gordon Dickson, Jo Galer, Aaron Hawkins, Carmen Houlahan, Richard Knights, Lianna MacFarlane, Angus Mackay, Angela McErlane, Gareth Ottley, Conrad Stedman, Pamela Taylor and Andrew Whiley.
