The popular Christmas event will be held this Sunday from 2.30pm at the Lady Thorn Rhododendron Dell in Church St, Port Chalmers.
The festive concert will feature the Dunedin Salvation Army Band and Dunedin Harmony Chorus, and will
be compered by Gladys
Hope.
Carols in the Dell brings the community together to celebrate the festive season in what was the old quarry in Port Chalmers.
The quarry provided building rocks for many of the city’s historical buildings, but has been transformed into a beautiful rhododendron dell by the Port Chalmers & District Lions Club over the past 20 years.
Entry to Carols in the Dell is free, but there will be an opportunity to make a gold coin donation to the Salvation Army Christmas appeal.
A free shuttle will operate from outside the Port Chalmers Four Square to the rhododendron dell from 1.30pm.
If the weather is inclement, the event will be transferred to the Iona Church, just below the dell, overlooking Port Chalmers.
