The bright yellow costumes and strength-testing machines are ready to go, as the Roslyn Physiotherapy team gears up for the Dunedin Relay for Life at Forsyth Barr Stadium on Saturday.

Led by practice owner and physio Brett Woodley and administrator Courtney Robinson, the 16-strong ‘‘Roslyn Physio’’ team involves staff, family and friends.

Mr Woodley said the team had chosen yellow as the theme for their relay costumes and were looking forward to making a vibrant splash of colour at the event.

‘‘We will even have yellow paediatric crutches as our baton for the relay — so that will be a bit of fun,’’ he said.

Mr Woodley said Saturday’s event would be the team’s first Relay for Life and was a good way to support staff members and families affected by cancer.

‘‘In our daily work, we regularly work with people who have cancer and occasionally, we have helped to diagnose cancers,’’ he said.

‘‘It is something we are very aware of and are keen to support the Cancer Society in their important work.’’

It was also important for Roslyn Physio to ‘‘walk the talk’’, as an organisation focused on wellbeing, he said.

As part of its activities at the Relay for Life, the Roslyn Physio team will have equipment set up to measure the leg, calf and grip strength of relay participants, as well as jump height.

‘‘We might also set up a board to record people’s jump heights and create a bit of a competition, with prizes on offer.

‘‘That might be fun for people, and could give them some useful information as well,’’ Mr Woodley said.
