Most people do not have a massive silk-lined marquee stored in their back shed. Nor is it likely they have enough table linen and silver cutlery for 120 people.

This is where hire firms are invaluable with their options and scope when it comes to organising wedding requirements, particularly if it is to be held in a marquee or a local hall or any other venue that is not fully equipped.

The industry can provide every necessity from the marquee - complete with tables, chairs ,attractive lighting and a dance floor - to everything to cook with, serve the food in and dress the tables. Specialist party hire firms rent smoke machine and lighting , others have sophisticated sound systems.

Once guest numbers, the location and the budget are known, it can be safely put in the hands of hire firms to plan the requirements.

A marquee wedding provides a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Adding a touch of elegance are decorative silk linings and a range of fabulous accessories such as magnificent gold and silver candelabra, wine fountains, gold archways, topiary and handsome silver platters. Many firms can match table linen with chair covers for decorative effect.

Some wedding venues are decorated lavishly with gold and silver or multicoloured balloons, which many hire companies have for sale in their showrooms.

And, for those clients who are tackling the catering themselves, there are pie warmers, coffee urns and bains marie to cope with the culinary requirements for the reception. When the weather looks dicey they also have heating systems for marquees.

TIP: Hire firms are constantly updating their product ranges so make a point of finding out when latest lines will be available.
