Alesha (30) stay at home mum and Scott Shaw (26) contract manager - Cromwell

When and where did you meet?

We met through mutual friends in 2010

The proposal

In May 2013 we went on holiday to Melbourne with our 7 month old son Rocco. We had an early morning flight so everything was rush rush trying to get to the airport and sorted with a baby. Scotts name got called over the loud speaker to go to customs, I had no idea what was going in so I just carried on trying to get out son to sleep. When he came back he just said it was something to do with his passport. Once we were on the plane they asked us if we wanted to move to the very back seats since they were spare and we had a baby that we were trying to get to sleep. So that was cool we moved and once Rocco was asleep Scott said he needed to go to the toilet, I didn't even realise he walked all the way to the front toilet when he could have just used the back one! Next thing I know he is on the speaker calling my name and for me to go up to the front of the plane where he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, over the speaker in front of the whole plane! Turns out he had called ahead and it was all arranged, the sneaky flight attendants had a bottle of bubbles ready (at about 7am!) for us when we got back to our seats. This is the proposal I will never forget!

When and where was the wedding?

We got married in Omakau at The Homestead and Woolshed in Racecourse on the 19th February 2016.

Why did you choose the venue?

We chose this venue as it perfectly matched our theming.

The dresses and suits

The boys suits were all from Hallensteins. The bridesmaids dresses were custom made by a company online called For Her and For Him. I bought my wedding dress in Melbourne last year from an amazing designer Karen Willis Holmes - it was her Jaimie gown.

The caterers

Our caterers were Wanaka Catering - absolutely amazing!

Highlight of the day

The whole day! We can't fault it, my favourite part was definately walking up the aisle and seeing all my friends and family

Our photographer

Our photographer was Alyssa Drake - Dear Lissy Photography. I don't have a favourite, I have many favourites as its too hard to choose just one it I do absolutely love a photo of us with our 2 young boys
