Christine Woods (60) housewife and Mike Scott (47) cleaner - Dunedin

Where and when did you meet?

We met at Heffs Hotel 4 years ago

The proposal

I moved into Mike's house. We were watching a movie and started thinking about our future. I asked Mike if he would like to marry me and he said yes. I decided to use mum's engagement ring.

Where was the wedding?

The wedding was held at the ST James Presbyterian Church, South Dunedin.

Why did you choose the venue?

We chose the venue because of the style of the church and the hall.

The dresses and suits

The dress was an apricot colour with rose on the shoulder, with a white shawl. The maid of honour had an apricot chiffon dress and lace. The two flower girls had apricot dresses with birds on them, The bridemaid had a red pattern on her dress. The groom wore a black suit, with a white shirt, a grey pin stripe vest and orange tie. The father of the groom wore the same outfit. The ring bearer wore black trousers, a white shirt and orange tie. The page boys wore pin stripe vests, trousers and jackets with white shirts.

The caterers

A group of ladies from the church did the catering.

Highlight of the day

The highlight of the day was being 40 minutes late to the church, after my daughters car was just about hit by another. After being checked by ambulance staff and questioned by police we headed to the hairdressers.

Our photographer

The photographer was Rowan for Photos Calibre Photography. My favourite photo is of the bridal party on the back of the Taieri Gorge carriage.
