Belinda nee Ireton (29) office administrator and Hamish Boyd (31) farm manager - Haldon Station
When and where did you meet?
Hamish is good mates with my brother so we had known each other for years when we bumped into each other again while out with friends, and Hamish promised to take me hunting.
Hamish had planned on proposing at the highest point of the power road that leads around the edge of lake Benmore however he was distracted by a cyclist we dropped off along the way that then left his bag in our vehicle. After a huge debacle trying to track the guy down and get his bag back to him he clean forgot about stopping at the top so we ended up stopping at the Haldon Station Jetty where Hamish had spent his childhood and we spend our summers with friends. He didn't manage to get down on one knee because it popped out, but he did manage to ask me to marry him.
When and where was the wedding?
The same place we got engaged, the jetty at Haldon Station which is also our home.
Why did you choose the venue?
If you saw it you would understand - there is no better place in the country to get married.
The dresses and suits
Dress from Davis Bridal in Christchurch which also had beading added to it by the wonderful Pat at Davis Bridal. Bridesmaids dresses are from Sheike Australia. Mens pants were from Mac Shaw Timaru, shirts Hallensteins.
Moveable Feasts - Christchurch who were absolutely amazing! We provided the chef with our own venison and it was cooked to perfection which can be quite task with so many people to cook for.
Highlight of the day
Celebrating with all our closest friends & of course the helicopter flight.
Gavin Cato from Sydney Australia - an absolute legend that handled a lot of stick from our bridal party.
