When and Where did you meet?
Back in our high school days was when we first met, through friends. Then we bumped into each other again eight years later in Melbourne.
The proposal:
Totally cliche! We both had a day off and spent a big day shopping. As we live by the sea, we decided to take a walk along the beach on the way home. Andy then turned, dropped to his knee and it went from there!!
Where was the wedding?
The Edgewater Resort, Wanaka
Why did you choose the venue?
Wanaka is a beautiful town and we both spent time there over the years and have wonderful memories. Edgewater Resort had it all: the venue, the views, the grounds and even the weather. Perfect.
The dress:
I never wear white, so I didn't want to wear white on my wedding day. I had ideas in mind of what I wanted, then went to the VERY talented Joy Hall from Dunedin's Je T'aime Bridal Boutique and she created the most beautiful, elegant dress imaginable!
The bridesmaids' dresses:
I wanted the bridesmaids to wear something that they felt comfortable in, so we went with an Infinity Dress. The ladies wore them in their own personalised style, and complemented them with red accessories.
The flowers:
I wanted to have white callas for the bridal bouquets. Shirley from Wanaka Wedding Flowers styled my amazingly unique bouquet complementing the callas with red spray carnations, white lisianthus, gypsophila and lambs ear. The bridesmaids' callas were dotted with red carnations and gypsophila, and the groom had a white calla, with his groomsmen wearing red carnations, altogether creating a stunning effect.
The caterers:
The amazing and delicious food was created in-house at The Edgewater by head chef Simon. It was excellent.
Highlight of the day:
Celebrating the day with our friends and family in the next step of our life together in our own unique, quirky way!
Your photographer and favourite photo:
My friend Jackie Gay, from Queenstown's Still Vision. Very talented, professional, fun and amazing person.
The black-and-white photo of us, or the lift, in which Andy is lifting me up are our favourites.
