Charlton Roberts and Jennie Roberts (nee Tylee-Porter)
Ages: 35 and 36
Occupations: Business manager and dental hygienist
Region: NSW

When and where did you meet?:
Charlton and I met in 2005 in Christchurch. Charlton had moved from central NSW to work in Christchurch. I was working as a dental hygienist, Charlton was a patient who arrived late for his appointment. While unimpressed with his tardiness at the time, during the dental appointment he managed impress me by telling me he was in New Zealand to help out with the "man drought" and was here on a "wife hunt".

The proposal:
We went to Sydney for the weekend, had dinner at Circular Quay, after dinner went for a walk around the harbour, then Charlton got down on one knee and proposed under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. He had even purchased a plastic ring from Toyworld to present me with at the time, so I could choose my own engagement ring at a later date. He had purchased the Toyworld ring a month earlier, which came with a fairy wand and tiara, which he had to dispose of so that I didn't suspect anything. Soon after the proposal fireworks went off across the harbour, purely coincidental. However, they made it extra special.

Where was the wedding?:
Our wedding ceremony and reception were held at Stoneridge Estate at Lake Hayes.

Why did you choose the venue?:
I chose the venue because of its picturesque setting and the convenience of having both the ceremony and reception at the one place. Also the owners and staff at Stoneridge were so obliging that I knew they would do their absolute best to ensure the wedding ran smoothly.

The dress:
The dress was a preloved Colette Dinigan design, an elegant style with an embellished bodice.

The bridesmaid's dress:
The bridesmaid's dress was chosen by Becs, my bridesmaid, from Bridesmaids Only. I wanted Becs to have a dress she would feel comfortable in on the day and would wear again.

The flowers:
I love roses! The Flower Room created all the floral arrangements.

The caterers:
Stoneridge Estate had a fabulous menu. As we had a lot of guests from overseas we wanted to show off some of New Zealand's finest foods, such as venison and chocolates from de Spa chocolates.

The photographer and favourite photo:
Our photographer was Miles Holden. My favourite picture is Charlton and I at the end of the jetty.

Highlight of the day:
The highlight of our day was watching Charlton see my nephews carrying a sign saying "Uncle Charlton, Here Comes Your Bride".
