Sarah Russell and Daniel Russell
We met in 2009 through mutual friends (I lived next door to his friend)
Daniel is a joiner and had done some work at Innocent Bystanders. He made a pizza board with ''Sarah will you marry me'' put into it. Innocent Bystanders placed the pizza on top. I didn't see the writing until I had eaten almost all of it.
We got married at Telford, just out of Balclutha, on January 10 this year. We chose Telford because family are down there and my mum works there. They have beautiful gardens and the food they provided was amazing! We were able to have our entire day there and our guests could stay overnight.
My beautiful dress was custom-made by Parkland Bridal. They did an amazing job; it was so comfortable. The bridesmaids' dresses were bought online and they looked amazing.
We chose to have flax flowers as they last forever. Sema from Artiflax made them and also our cake topper.
Telford did all of the catering and it was all beautiful. My cousin provided crayfish, which was a lovely wee extra. My family helped out with the supper.
The highlight of the day was getting together with all my family and friends in one place. Being able to have a couple of hours away getting photos with the bridal party was also another great way to sit back and take in the day. It was all so special and I loved the whole day. We also got to share our amazing day with our two gorgeous children.
The photographer was Lisa Reid. She was amazing, working along with her husband. Most times I hardly knew they were there snapping away. They were able to snap our entire day from start to finish, and captured many special moments.
One of my favourites was a photo with our children Harmony and Wiremu.
