Elections for the shareholders council are required in Rotorua, Central Taranaki, Northern Manawatu, Hawkes Bay and Mid-Canterbury.

Fonterra shareholders have the opportunity to meet director candidates and ask questions at roadshow meetings throughout the country between October 31 and November 4. Meetings will be held at the Hotel Ashburton on November 3 at 7.30pm, South Otago Town and Country Club at Balclutha on November 4 at 11.30am and in Invercargill at the Elmwood Garden Function Centre at 7.30pm that day.

Voting closes November 15 and results will be announced that day.

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
