Water has been cut off to the middle pond in the Ashburton Domain for a couple of weeks so that contractors can continue their bank stabilisation work at the back of the cricket oval and pavilion.
It’s meant one of three ponds at the domain has been drained to allow contractors to rebuild the embankment at the back of the cricket oval and pavilion.
Meanwhile, at Lake Hood water levels are being slowly raised this week.
It follows winter maintenance work under way at the lake.
“After a busy period of winter maintenance, including work on the boat ramps and lake banks,” a spokesperson for Ashburton District Council said.
“Refilling the lake may take a couple of weeks, depending on the quality of water coming in from the Ashburton River.”
