The woman who was killed in a serious crash on State Highway 1 in South Canterbury last week has been named.

Michelle Tracey Hopkins, 54, from Pegasus died at the scene of the two-vehicle collision in Temuka at the intersection of Temuka-Ōrari Highway and Opuha St East about 3.30pm on Thursday.

“Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones at this difficult time. Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing,” a police spokesperson said on Monday.
