Traffic has been affected after a three car crash in South Dunedin this afternoon.

A police spokeswoman said it was called to the crash at the intersection between Timaru and Midland Sts at 4.10pm.

Traffic was affected after the crash, but still flowing.

The spokeswoman said it was not believed anyone was seriously injured in the crash.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand and St John also attended.

One woman was seen being taken into an ambulance, but was walking and did not appear to have serious injuries.

I've been calling for a roundabout at the Otaki, Orari, Timaru, Midland St intersections for ages now, so hopefully this gets them put in. So many near misses on all of those roads so it's a wonder there aren't more crashes.

All of them are big enough for roundabouts too. And it would make it safer for motorists and cyclists.

Shows the state of Dunedin's drivers. Why they have to be so close to the tail of the car ahead (including tailgating at stop signs and traffic lights) I will never know.
I have already been hit from behind three times this year.
