American Aaron Becker has ventured from the world of film design to create his first children's book, a wordless journey into the imagination.

The book begins with sepia drawings of a young girl obviously bored as her mother, father and sister are busy.

She finds a red crayon and draws herself a doorway into another world, a richly coloured city with gold-domed towers, bridges, waterways and gondolas, knights and flying machines.

To continue her journey, she must draw herself a boat, hot-air balloon and flying carpet. Stunning.
