New Zealand rowing Olympian Rob Hamill will talk in Dunedin this weekend about the torture and murder of his older brother by the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia.

Hamill and director Annie Goldson will introduce the world premiere of Brother Number One in the New Zealand International Film Festival at 1pm tomorrow and 11am on Monday at Rialto Cinema.

The documentary follows Hamill's journey to Cambodia in 2009 to testify at the war crime tribunal of infamous Khmer Rouge S-21 prison leader Kaing Guek Eav, known as Comrade Duch, about the murder of his older brother, Kerry, in 1978.

The pair will also answer questions about the film after the screening.

Further screenings of Central Otago goldfields film Illustrious Energy have been scheduled in the film festival after the only screening, which incorporated a talk from director Leon Narbey, sold out on Wednesday night.

Two extra screenings have been scheduled next Friday and Saturday at Hoyts Cinema.

Dunedin film-maker Patrick Gillies will also speak at the screening of his film, Huhu Attack!, in the Homegrown: Flights of Fantasy short film festival at 6.15pm on Friday and 4.30pm on Monday at Rialto Cinema.
