Tilda Swinton digs in for charity

It wasn't as easy as it looked. Tilda Swinton's first attempt at making clay impressions of her hands - part of a fundraising effort to help restore Venice's St Mark's Square - barely left a print.

"It's going to look like a bird's hand," the star said after successfully pressing her hands deeper into the clay. She then scratched her name on the tablet, adding a heart shape for flourish.

Palm prints of the stars are being collected throughout the Venice Film Festival by the Italian automaker Lancia, and will be auctioned on e-Bay to raise funds to restore Venice's St. Mark's Square.

Filmmaking brothers Ethan and Joel Coen, in whose film "Burn After Reading" Swinton appears, did their own prints on a joint slab.
