A quick pan-fry brings out its sweetness, and finishing with a hit of miso butter takes things to the next level. Salty, savoury and very delicious. Prep time 5min Cooking time 5min Skill Easy Serves 2-4 as a side Ingredients 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and sliced on the diagonal 1 Tbsp butter 1 tsp white miso paste 1 tsp sesame oil or neutral oil 1 tsp lemon juice Freshly cracked pepper Toasted sesame seeds to finish Method In a small bowl, mash together the butter and miso paste until smooth. Heat a wide frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the oil, then the asparagus. Cook for 2-3 minutes, tossing occasionally, until bright green. Reduce heat slightly, then add the miso butter. Toss or stir until melted and the asparagus is coated and glossy (about 1-2 minutes). Add a squeeze of lemon juice. Finish with cracked pepper and toasted sesame seeds.
