A new brand of potato chips arrived on my desk recently: Proper Hand Cooked Crisps, made in Nelson with South Island potatoes, sunflower oil and salt - nothing else, they say.
Certainly, they were deliciously crisp, and had none of the artificial flavouring I often associate with crisps.
My colleagues rated them highly, and soon polished off the packet - although our fingers were left rather greasy. The nutrition panel said 34% fat.
Perhaps they could be drained a little more before packaging so we could feel happier about eating them more often.
