Asparagus loves a little butter and the notes of miso add another level of deliciousness.
Quick asparagus with miso butter
16 spears asparagus
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp miso paste
1 Tbsp rice wine vinegar
cracked black pepper
Prepare the asparagus by snapping off the tough end of the stalks.
In a large frypan, melt the butter, add garlic, soy and miso. Gently fry all the ingredients together over a medium heat.
Add the asparagus and cook in the miso flavoured butter for 4-5 minutes or until the asparagus is just tender.
Add the vinegar to the pan and toss the asparagus in the delicious butter.
