As soon as I sat down with my "judging'' hat on, perusing the 95 entries in this year's "Show us your garden'' photograph contest, I remembered how tough this task had been the previous year.
Well, some things never change, so I've again called in some outside "expertise'' from a couple of ODT colleagues and after some head-scratching and debate, we've come up with the eight lucky winners of the $50 garden vouchers from Nichol's Garden Centre.
So congratulations to those entrants who have made the top eight and commiserations to everyone else.
There were several photos which were on the verge of making the top eight and I had to keep reminding myself this was a "fun'' event, but it's never easy when making decisions that you know will disappoint some others.
A huge "thank you'' to everyone who entered the fun spirit of the contest and entered their photos and also to Nichol's for kindly providing the prizes.
