What was the best birthday present you ever received, and why?

An HMX 500 bicycle when I was about 10. It was the early days of BMX bikes.

What is your message?

Two come to mind. Look to find what you really enjoy doing in life and are naturally good at.

If you do what you are truly passionate about you will always feel successful and happy.

The other is, ''Make excellence a habit''.

If you were going to an island and could only take three things, what would they be and why?

Hmmm. Sonia (my wife) and my three kids. I know that doesn't add up, but I really love spendingquality time with my family.

What's something only your family knows about you?

How much ice cream I actually eat.

You are a new addition to the crayon box. What colour are you, and why?

Green comes to mind. It's my favourite colour, very Kiwi. I like land and space - I'm from a farming background. It also indicates I like trying new challenges and ideas.
